OVERVIEW

Adrian College is a private college, which is featured by its liberal arts education. It is related to the United Methodist Church in Adrian, so it is also a church school. In 2010, the college has enrolled 1,670 students in total. Adrian College also recruits graduate students every year.

The college was founded in the year of 1859, having a history of more than 150 years. It is located in the city of Adrian in Michigan. It takes 45 minutes to drive to the college from Ann Arbor and Toledo. The campus is not very big, covering an area of 100 acres.

Adrian College offers degrees in associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s programs. All Adrian students are able to receive its multiple study programs with diverse teaching approaches. More than 40 majors, minor and pre-professional programs are given in this college. A wide range of overseas study programs is open to Adrian students as well.

Adrian College manages several institutes, which make research on both theoretical and practical projects. There are Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, Institute for Health Studies, Institute for Study Abroad, Institute for Ethics and George Romney Institute for Law and Policy.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for the college are required to possess high school diplomas. General Educational Development (GED) is equally effective. It also requires applicants to take standardized tests like SAT or ACT. At the same time, it is highly recommend that students receive a general college-preparatory program. Among all non-academic factors, talents and ability, race and ethnicity, interview, character and other factors will be taken into consideration.

COSTS AND FINANCIAL AID

The tuitions and fees for year 2011-2012 is USD 27,440. Students spend USD 916 for life expanses on average and approximately USD 8,346 for accommodation.

In Adrian College, about 80% receive scholarships to support their study. Two types of scholarships are offered in the college: Need-based Scholarships and Non-need-based Scholarships. The former one offers about USD 19,305 and the latter offers about USD 11,075.
